Melanie R. Jarboe
, one of our Massachusetts Special Education
commentators, represents families with children who have special needs as well as individual clients with disabilities. She helps individuals and families with a wide range of special education and disability law issues, such as working through the team process, eligibility for services, the development of appropriate accommodation plans, mediation, and litigation before the BSEA
(Bureau of Special Education Appeals).
Before beginning law school, Ms. Jarboe taught elementary school in Harlem and received a Master’s degree in teaching from Pace University. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Occidental College and a cum laude graduate of Boston College Law School, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Boston College Journal for Law & Social Justice (formerly called the Boston College Third World Law Journal). Ms. Jarboe practices at Kotin Crabtree & Strong.
